Class Valentine Party

A friend asked for some help for her daughter's class Valentine Party.  I made up this sheet.  Print out as many as are in the class. Each child can do a word search, make their parents Valentines and play Valentine Bingo.

Comics... this week I discovered Ann Telnaes  the great cartoonist.  I want to be her!  I just love her art- I could pass on some of her opinions though.  In my spare time, I'd like to try to great some cartoons - kind of on social commentary.

Speeding

Mason ( my 18yr old) got followed to school today by someone who thought he was speeding.  The person called the police, went to the principal to find out the licence plate and the police called him out of class! I love it!  What better way could I get him to slow down?

Be a Valentine

Today I printed up 4 of these "Be a Valentine" sheets to pass around ss class.  IT WAS AWESOME. So many people signed up to help out.  You really don't need to travel to Thailand to lend a needed hand.

Making Valentines

I think it is a disease called Valentinosis. It started out as a sweet hobby .Several years ago I started making Valentines for friends. My little part in helping renew the lost art of sending Valentines. Well now it's come to this- I've already made over a hundred and it's only Jan. 12Th.  Like I said, it's gone from sweet to pure syrup.

HOW TO: This picture is a drawing done with pencil and watercolor. First I traced some clip art on a light box. I erase and embellish in pencil. Next I placed  a piece of carbon paper between the pencil drawings on tracing paper and  a sheet of arches watercolor paper. I then trace them to the watercolor paper. I painted them with Dr. PH Martins watercolor. Then  I scanned and messed with them in Photoshop. The final valentines were printed on translucent velum paper (with my valentine message typed in the middle).  Lots of work- but that's why they call it art!
